Support the M.A.G.I.C. Scholarship

Central City Neighborhood Partners (CCNP) has walked alongside young people and their families for more than twenty-five years, helping them work toward stability, opportunity, and leadership. Over that time, CCNP has seen how much effort and hope young people bring to their education, even when resources are limited.

The M.A.G.I.C. Youth Scholarship, formally the Margarita Alvarez Gomez Inspirational Champion Youth Scholar Award, was created to lift up those young people. The scholarship honors the legacy of CCNP’s Executive Director, Margarita Alvarez Gomez, by recognizing CCNP youth who show resilience, a heart for service and a strong commitment to their education.

The scholarship is focused on students who are already part of the CCNP community. It supports youth who participate in CCNP programs, contribute to their families and neighborhoods, and are ready to take the next step into higher education. Beginning in spring 2026, eligible CCNP high school seniors will be invited to apply for this scholarship. Use of scholarship funds is determined at CCNP’s discretion and may include support for tuition, enrollment fees, books, supplies, technology and other education costs that could stand in the way of a student’s plans.

Many CCNP youth are the first in their families to pursue education after high school. They often balance school with work and responsibilities at home. Even a relatively small expense can be the reason a student postpones or gives up on an opportunity. Support for the M.A.G.I.C. Youth Scholarship reduces that pressure and sends a clear message that the community believes in their potential.

The M.A.G.I.C. The Youth Scholarship is also a tribute to the leadership of Margarita Alvarez Gomez. Through her work with CCNP, she has championed young people, opened doors to opportunity and insisted that youth voice and experience matter. This scholarship keeps that spirit moving forward by investing directly in the next generation of leaders who will continue to give back to their communities.
